The first time I made these, they seemed a bit watery, like they were missing something. Today I made them again with 1.5 cups of milk and 1/2 cup of shredded sweetened coconut (same amount of sugar and vanilla), and had much better results. They were tasty, rich, and flavorful. Reminds me of the froz'n'fruit pops from when I was a kid. Yum!
Maybe my vanilla is stronger than most (it's pure vanilla extract from a local source), but that was all I could taste. I didn't like it. One kid ate it up, the other said it was "too cold" LOL!

I am 48 years old and my Mother, used to make these for us kids. They are so good that the kids in the neighborhood use to line up waiting for my Mother to make these. This is definitely a excellent recipe and the children will definitely love them, I know I DID!
