Strawberry Dessert Pizza

"A delightful addition to that Friday night family pizza. Found this at Guide to Southern Food. If using fresh strawberries, mash, sprinkle with sugar, cover, refrigerate for 2 hours, and add 1/4 cup water when cooking. I had unsweetened frozen strawberries and added 3 packets of splenda while cooking."

 1. Found this a Delicious dessert.I will have a full review on www.thepizzafetish.com very soon.

 2. I haven't actually tasted this recipe yet, but I made it and took it to a Mother's Day picnic the other day and received a lot of compliments on it. I did make a couple of changes - I made the crust in a pie pan, and only used half of the filling. I'm going to make another crust this morning and use up the extra filling.

 3. I used a sugar cookie dough for the crust (saw it used in a similar recipe, but liked the look of your filling recipe better). Did everything else as you have written, then drizzled melted chocolate (thinned with a little shortening) over the top of the whole thing. It got lots of oohs and ahhs at dessert time. Thanks!

 4. This was a little taste of summer on a really cold day! We enjoyed this for dessert. I made as posted. This will be made again ~ it would be especially nice for a barbecue. Thanks for posting!

 5. A wonderful thing to take to those pesky office potlucks. Everyone loved this.

Sadly, CoolMonday passed away on November 16, 2007. She will be missed by her many friends at Recipezaar; and we're grateful for the fond memories we have. I'm the number one gramma of Rusty, Michael and Nikki. I know that because they told me so... hehehe...I live in the eternal city of lights, Las Vegas, Nevada. I stopped working about 3 years ago when I had some personal situations requiring my attention. I do love pizza, especially cold for breakfast the next day.. Since I discovered Zaar, I now prepare a large family meal once a month and I enjoy saving recipes and passing them on to my daughter. Most of the dishes are from Recipezaar.. so thank you very much. I have a good housekeeping cookbook that's about 40 years old and I love it... I have recipes I have saved over the years and have posted some of them. My pet peeve???? hmmmm that would have to be rude or inconsiderate people. Another pet peeve is people who "tell it like it is".
