Being a non-vegan, I used brown sugar and cinnamon to fill mine and they were wonderful! My husband said they were the best he ever had!

I made cinnamon buns? O.O And I made them at 7am? And ....it worked? YES! I prepped the dry ingredients last night, and cut my margarine into pieces/stuck back in the fridge. Got everything ready to roll. Got up this morning and somehow pulled this off within 30minutes! You don't know me, I can't roll dough! This recipe has to be fool proof. I used brown sugar, added 1/4 cup walnuts, and all I had was vanilla soy milk, but that didn't seem to effect anything. Thank you so much for this recipe!

Needed quick recipe...tried these w/ butter, milk, brown sugar and chopped walnuts in the recipe...then rolled out, cut into larger pieces and put each slice into a greased muffin pan...turned out great and easy. The outside of the rolls were not super soft, but very tasty.

Wow! My very 1st attempt at cinn rolls & I think they turned out pretty good! I do have to wait for the hubby test :-). Frankly, I liked that they weren't terribly sweet & the dough was wonderful! I'm not a vegan either so I used skim milk & brown sugar. I didn't know how to bake the rolls; on their sides or right side up; I think it's supposed to be right side up. Mine only took 10 min. The dough was pretty easy to work with; I had to keep wetting my hands & spraying my cutting board so I could knead/roll without getting sticky. This was a great 1st effort; I'm totally encouraged :-). thanks so much for sharing!! UPDATE: hubby LOVED them--shocked me since I just wasn't sure if they were sweet enough for him! DOUBLE THANKS!

If you want to keep your blood sugar down, substitute Xylitol for sugar. Kids loved it!

I was after a cinnamon roll recipe that didn't need to rise and I found this one. I was pleasantly surprised to see the sucanat - whihc I had in the house. I used 1 cup whole wheat and 1 cup all purpose flour, light butter, and skim milk, I am not a vegan but love healthy eats. This came out excellent with my substitutions. I also have some left over cream cheese frostingso that was my icing. Thanks for a great recipe!
