This is the ultimate unusual salsa recipe. Very tasty over vanilla ice cream. You can substitute watermelon for dragonfruit if you can't find dragonfruit at your local grocer. I did not put the chopped jalepeno in because I don't do hot, but I think next time I will. This recipe was developed by the Groovy GastroGnomes for ZWT5.

This was a delicious ice cream salsa! I have to admit I was hesitant about the jalapeno and avacado but they were both great additions.... I couldn't find dragonfruit so I did use the watermelon! Gonna keep looking for the dragonfruit and make it again! Thanks for posting... Made for ZWT 5 salsa challenge

Sheer genius, GastroGnomes. I loved this so much. If you're in doubt about the avocado and jalapeno, don't be, they're wonderful. Cooking the jalapeno in the juice makes the flavor more of a mild warmth than real heat, and the avocado is just rich and creamy when mixed with the rest of the fruit. I couldn't get dragonfruit, but I had a mango lying around, so I went with that. I served mine over ice cream with some homemade cinnamon sugar tortilla chips. Wonderful!

Topping for ice cream? You can eat it all by itself it's so good. The dragonfruit at the grocery store was all mouldy (yuck), so subbed with watermelon. Couldn't find nectarines as they are out of season, so subbed with white peaches. Fantastic treat!
