Fruit Pizza

"This is one of my favorite snacks and it is soooo easy to make. The kids love it which is great since it is relatively a healthy treat. I got this one from my Mama, my mother's grandmother."

directions

  • Slice COLD cookie dough into 1/4" or less slices and place side by side to cover your cookie sheet.
  • Bake according to directions to make one"giant" sugar cookie.
  • (Either Pizza shaped or Rectangular... I leave that up to you.) Let stand until cool to the touch.
  • Mix cream cheese, sugar and vanilla, by hand until all are combined.
  • Spread evenly over entire"cookie".
  • Cut into Pizza slices if desired or into 2"x2" squares as I do.
  • (We eat Pizza King pizza here... it's cut into squares, hence the slices I use for this dish, not to mention the fact that it makes more.) Anyway, slice it however you wish and then add fruit to each slice.
  • If you choose to use the glaze, that step is before the fruit.
  • I know most recipes I have seen for Fruit Pizza call for it but I personally don't like the stuff.
  • Cheese spread and fruit are more than enough flavor for this dish.
  • Refrigerate until cheese spread sets so as not to make such a big mess.
  • Enjoy!

  1. I brought this dish to my son's classroom Valentine party and it was a hit. You're absolutely right, it does not need the glaze.

I am a 30 year old wife, and mother of 3. I have been a stay at home mom for 10 years now, and thank goodness I have been able to. I wouldn't have traded this time for anything in the world. I love to cook, especially bake. What can I say? Desserts are my favorites! I have some great recipes that I am required to make for each and every holiday that my family spends together. No ifs ands or buts about it...if I don't bring my candy, I may as well stay home! Being an at home mom gave me lots of time to try new recipes and alter those that could be good, with just a little of this and a splash of that. I'm getting ready to undertake an even bigger task than staying home with my children, if there is such a thing, by going to college to become an elementary school teacher. My major will be teaching, grades 1-6, but I'm also going to minor in special education, or working with children with disabilities. This is something I have wanted to do since 3rd grade, and I'm finally going to have my chance. I work at the school in my youngest daughters' classroom, and I have had the chance to work with children from all sorts of backgrounds over the years. I can't imagine myself doing anything else at this point in my life. When I graduated from high school, I went to school and got my cosmetologist license, and I will always love doing hair, nails, make up and make overs, but my passion is children. I also love to talk, as you can plainly see if you are reading this. Well, I hope you are enjoying this site and make sure you try some of the recipes here. They have something for everyone and every need. Don't be scared to try it, you just might like it!
