We liked this quick and easy dessert. I didn't have enough cherries, so I also used a can of crushed pineapple, drained. The reason I gave it four stars is because ..i feel the baking time is off. I would go with 40 mn. then see. Thanks for posting!

This is really great. It is easy and delicious. I think I am even going to try it with other fruits when they are in season. I ate it with creme brulee ice cream and it was to die for! Thanks for the wonderful recipe Tom Lambie.....

Have you thought of using choccake so it would be like a black forest dessert, just curious.

We got back from a trip to Door County with a bunch of fresh tart cherries we had just picked and the big question - what to make??? This was one of the recipes we picked and WOW were we pleased with our choice. Such a simple recipe to put together but the results are wonderful. I used Duncan Hines Classic White Cake mix for the cake portion. I also omitted the pecans and sprinkled a few walnuts only on one small section since only one family member (ME) likes nuts. We served it with fresh whipped cream and it was delicious.
