This is a very good crockpot dessert. My only issue would be the topping is better crispy from the oven, but this IS crockpot cooking. That said, the flavors are lovely. A well balanced blend of fruit added a spark to the traditional apple crisp. We didn't find this overly sweet and loved the hint of nutmeg throughout. I will be making this again at hubby's request. His remark was "Don't lose this recipe!" Thank you for your creative entry in the Craze-E Category Contest.

The flavor of this crisp was wonderful. Definitely tropical, I enjoyed the addition of the pineapple and coconut in the crisp. I used a mixture of sweet and tart apples for this treat, they worked great. The crisp, was tender, sweet, tart and tangy, with a lovely tropical sauce. I didn't care for the texture of the oatmeal, it almost reminded me of porridge, but my dh loved it. Congratulations on your winning entry.

I loved the flavor & texture of this dessert. DH loved the flavor also, but wasn't crazy about the coconut texture. The fruit flavors were in harmony & the amount of sauce this made was perfect. I don't think the oats were fully cooked, but I also had to try it as soon as 4 hours was up. I didn't mind the al dente texture of the oats, but will probably let it cook longer next time. I served this with a dollop of whipped cream & we all really enjoyed it. Good luck! Made for Category Craze-E #1 - Crock Pot Challenge.

The flavour was wonderfully tropical as the title suggested. Just a little too sweet for us. There was an excess amount of liquid after the initial cooking time. I let it sit on the counter for an hour thinking it might thicken up some on cooling. It did, but not as much as I would have liked. I ended up baking it for about 30 minutes at 350*, which worked very well. (I'm thinking that maybe my apples might be a sweeter variety, and contain more water. I used Cortlands) I will make this again, but modify it a touch. Made for Category Craze-E Contest.

My Mom made apple crisp (and also pear crisp) on cold days growing up, so this is a comfort food for me. Exquisitely cooked in the crockpot-the whole house smelled good and it was so warm and tasty on a record cold day. We had it with whipped cream the first time but it was better the second time with vanilla frozen yogurt, melting into the hot apples. I doubled the cinnamon since I love it. This was a terrific recipe and so easy to make!
