Blackberry Cream Cheese Dessert

"This delightful recipe was given to me by a dear friend. She has a huge blackberry patch, so is always looking for blackberry recipes. This one is served cold, so is especially nice on a warm lazy July evening."

  1. I have made this recipe several times now - and everyone LOVES it! It's my go-to dessert for potlucks and BBQ's, as well as the most requested for birthdays and special occasions. We personally prefer more cream cheese/no-bake cheesecake, so I use 2 blocks of cream cheese, 2 cups powdered sugar, 1 tsp Vanilla extract and juice of one lemon (room temp) for that layer. Someone thought this was too much cornstarch, but you need that much cornstarch so the blackberries set up firm when you cut it. I also have used a mixture of strawberries, raspberries and blackberries that I puree together with amazing results! For me homemade whipped cream is the way to go and puts the best finish on this irresistible dessert!

  2. I tried this recipe, and i followed it exactly, sad to report it is HORRIBLE!!! 6 tablespoons of cornstarch really??? I should of known that was way to much. Im sad I wasted my blackberries, creamcheese & butter on this.

  5. Ohhhh this is so good. I followed your recipe exactly as written and didn't change a thing. We have wild blackberries that grow out in our back fields and every summer I pick a bunch to freeze for whenever. This recipe fit the bill nicely. :-) Made for HolidayTag~
