cut strawberries anyway you like. Toss with the vinegar and sugar and set aside at room temperature for 30 minutes to 1 hour. Can add a little pepper if you like. I also let soak in refrigerator if I want cold berries.
Loved this! I too replaced the sugar with the same amount of Splenda. My boys thought the vinegar was too strong, but they're not balsamic lovers anyway. I made this, but used splenda instead of sugar. Strawberries were still awesome and I was surprised how well the balsamic vinegar worked in this. Will definately make this again.
